Science
Our approach to our curriculum at The Royal School, Wolverhampton is based on our values: Initiative, Risk, Respect, Trust and Community.
Our pupils are taught that, "Science is the study of nature and natural things".
Our Science curriculum has been designed to:
- Build upon prior knowledge, through careful and considerate sequencing.
- Ensure pupils possess key knowledge to enable them to tackle future learning with confidence.
- Allow opportunities for retrieval of key knowledge and skills through interleaving and 'Think Backs'.
- Meet the requirements of the National Curriculum.
- Where possible, link with our overarching Cornerstones topic areas, while maintaining the integrity of Science as a core subject.
- Enable pupils to work scientifically and develop procedural skills, as well as declarative skills.
