Wrap-Around Care
At The Royal Primary School, we understand that many families need additional support outside of standard school hours for pupils aged 4-11. We are proud to offer a range of wrap-around care options designed to help working parents while providing a safe and enriching environment for our pupils.

Before School
- Gates Open: 7:59am
- Free Supervised Play: 8:00am – 8:25am
Pupils are welcome to arrive from 7:59am to enjoy free supervised play before lessons begin.
After-School
We offer a wide range of over 70 free and paid after-school clubs and activities, booked on a termly basis. These clubs are very popular and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Initially, each child may book two sessions, with additional spaces released later to ensure fair access.
All bookings are made via the Parents' Evening System. To view available activities, please refer to the programme listed below.
Prep – Paid After-School Care
For families needing care beyond the end of the school day, we offer 'Prep' sessions, led by our dedicated team. These sessions are held in the dining room and adjacent classroom and include a variety of fun and engaging activities such as LEGO, arts and crafts, board games, and outdoor play.

Stay and Play – Shorter Sessions
For families needing a shorter window of care — for example, to bridge the gap after a club — we offer 'Stay and Play' sessions. These run exactly like Prep but in shorter 30-minute blocks.

Collection Information from Prep and Stay and Play

From 3:15pm to 5:00pm: Please collect your child from the dining room door at the side of the main school building.

After 5:00pm: Collection is from the main school reception.

Please note that late charges after 5:30pm will be charged at £15.00 every 15 minutes. Payment of late charges will be due upon collection; a card reader will be available at Primary reception for these purposes.
Booking Information

All Prep and Stay and Play sessions must be booked and paid for at the end of the month and paid for upon booking. Bookings will be open during the last week of each month and close at the end of said month.

Outstanding payments must be cleared before making new bookings.

Bookings are made through the School Gateway.

Before booking, please ensure you have read the school's After-School Care Guidelines (found below).

Prices for both Prep and Stay and Play sessions are based on bookings made in advance, for those bookings made on the day prices will double. Bookings on the same day will only be approved in emergency situations.
