CCF Adventurous Training – Snowdonia

Over the summer, two of our CCF Cadets travelled to Capel Curig, Snowdonia to take part in a week-long Adventurous Training (AT) expedition with the Cadet Centre for Adventurous Training (CCAT). They had a great time rock climbing, canyoning, mountain biking and hiking in the picturesque surroundings of the Snowdonia National Park. Both Cadets reported that they had had a fantastic time, earning their 2-Star Adventurous Training award! They are now eligible to go on to complete nationally accredited AT courses with CCAT in the future. These expeditions are majority funded by the MOD, with only a minor contribution (approximately £50) required to be paid by parents, an offer that is unmatched amongst other youth organisations. These opportunities are available to all Cadets within the CCF that meet the age requirement. If you have any questions about your child joining the CCF (they must be at least in Year 9), please do not hesitate to contact me (LPettengell@theroyal.school).
