Welcome to our Boarding Community
The School is set in the leafy suburb of Penn close to the City of Wolverhampton which is in the centre of England.
The area is referred to as the Heart of England. Birmingham, the second largest city in the UK, is only a few miles away and its International Airport is the closest to the School.
Boarders are accepted from both the UK and overseas and this variety, together with the benefit of 150 years of tradition, brings richness and depth to School life.
The School has three Boarding Houses, which are all on the School site.
Unlike some of our competitors the School remains open for all half term holidays and also the Easter holiday, depending on demand. Any student who is unable to return home for these holidays can remain in School and the cost will be added to their fee accounts.
During the February half term an optional visit to a European or UK city is arranged for the students staying in School. Full details can be obtained from the International Office.
Additional voluntary activities for boarders include Go-Karting, Laser Quest, Bowling, Cinema and Paint Balling.
Catering:
The School provides all boarders with a healthy, well balanced diet which includes three cooked meals per day with a choice at each meal. Vegetarian and Halal meals are always available. There is a salad bar to provide a healthy choice and pupils with allergies and special diets are catered for. Afternoon tea is also provided at the end of the teaching day. The Head Cook is available to talk to pupils about their individual needs.
The School also has a Sixth Form Centre/Café where students are able to purchase drinks and snacks.
The Catering department organises theme days and there is an active catering committee where pupils can meet catering staff and discuss menus.
Laundry:
The School operates its own in-house laundry where all students can have their clothes washed or dry cleaned.
Banking Facilities:
Pocket Money
The School operates Pocket Money bank for students and parents can stipulate how much money they wish to be allocated to a student each week.
The HSBC Bank visits the International Office during term time and the dates are posted in the Boarding Houses.
School Insurance:
Personal Possessions Insurance can be added to a student's fee account. The current claims excess is £25 for most possessions and £100 for laptops.
The School accepts Boarders from Year 6. Students are looked after in one of the School's on-site boarding houses.

The event is the 1st World Youth Olympics, and Rachael has been accompanied by The Royal Wolverhampton School's Head Coach Nathan Hilton in his capacity as one of the official Great Britain Swimming coaches .
Kelly got the evening of swimming action off to a flying start with bronze in the women's 100m butterfly final in a time of 1:00.26. Kelly said: "I had been saying all week that I was waiting for the 100m final so it feels amazing to get a medal. I haven't swum spectacularly well throughout the week, but I have been improving and so to have got a medal at the end of it feels fantastic."
