We are a leading co-educational day and boarding school set in the heart of England with easy access to all major cities and a stones throw away from the beautiful countryside of Shropshire and the Welsh border.   In fact, our Junior School is ranked in the Top 100 Independent Preparatory Schools List according to the Sunday Times Schools Guide.

The Royal is proud of its links to the past, combining traditional values with strong pastoral care, a modern outlook and a 'real-world' attitude. 

Although the School achieves academic excellence with 99% of leavers going onto their first choice university and 100% pass rate at A level and GCSE, it is the focus on the whole child that makes us stand out.

With just over 500 students ranging in age from six weeks to 18 years, 160 boarders and a Sixth Form of more than 120, we are able to ensure that pupils achieve their full academic potential, whilst a wide range of extra-curricular activities is available to develop character and leadership.  Although it is a school that primarily serves the local Shropshire, Staffordshire and West Midlands area, we also have a truly international community thanks to our boarders.  Pupils are represented from over 24 nationalities and the vibrant culture was identified as an 'outstanding' element of life at The Royal in  the recent impressive ISI report.
